I still need to use crutches, but I can "sort of" walk now, putting only a <em>slight</em> bit of weight on my injured foot. <strong>I get to start physical therapy ASAP!!</strong> All this said, I must admit that my new aid reminds me an awful lot of my old ski boots, which arguably one could use downhill without actually snow skis underneath... :-) Thankfully I was able to transition into a walking boot this afternoon–no more casts! So, Russ, you owe my son $10. ($15 will get you a photo of this screaming beauty online.) On a more serious note, healing is progressing well and I went from 50 degrees to 70 degrees in this casting. It's common for 90 degrees to be achieved after week four; so, I don't necessarily expect to hit the magic angle next week...
