Thankfully I was able to transition into a walking boot this afternoon--no more casts! Woohoo! I still need to use crutches, but I can "sort of" walk now, putting only a slight bit of weight on my injured foot. I get to start physical therapy ASAP!! All this said, I must admit that my new aid reminds me an awful lot of my old ski boots, which arguably one could use downhill without actually snow skis underneath... :-)

As I expected, Russ is more than willing to pay for my further embarrassment--besides it's going to a good cause (i.e. my son's "Lego Expansion Fund"). So, without further adieu...

Well, thanks to a bribe from my good friend, my son told me this morning before heading off to school that today's cast should be colored...hot pink! So, Russ, you owe my son $10. ($15 will get you a photo of this screaming beauty online.)

On a more serious note, healing is progressing well and I went from 50 degrees to 70 degrees in this casting. It's common for 90 degrees to be achieved after week four; so, I don't necessarily expect to hit the magic angle next week...

True enough. I told the doctor that 20 years ago I likely would have blown off his advice, but after having the scars to show how stupid I was, I'm all ears followed by actions now.

Bummer. Just remember to ease back into things slowly. It can be frustrating, but it is less frustrating than having to start all over.
