Photoshop is a really amazing application, once you understand its perspective and model of workflow. My brother has been kind enough to share his expertise with me; hopefully it’s starting to show in my images.
I recently subscribed to a couple of Photoshop-focused newsgroups. On one of them, an anonymous poster offered the following excellent advice to a newbie: “Bear two things in mind: First, a person can expect to spend three months becoming reasonably proficient in [Photoshop]. Second, technical proficiency with the software does not equal design talent. There are already a lot of people out there using high-end Adobe software to crank out some truly brutal design. Please don’ become one of them. Learn at least the basics of good design.”-Craig
